The RBS Breakfast Club gathered again today for our latest meeting, with many attendees present to share their experiences and insights. The topic of the day was about utilizing technology in business, with a specific focus on the use of AI for generating content (including images like the one above). There was lively discussion on whether customers would be comfortable with a Marriage Celebrant using AI to write their wedding script. Opinions were divided, but Robyn from Celebrant in Style, shared that she would continue to write her own script, as she felt it added a personal touch.

While the conversation touched on the potential benefits of using AI, the importance of being vigilant in a technology-driven world was also highlighted. Sharyn shared her concerns about the growing sophistication of scams and the importance of being cautious when conducting business online.

One key theme from the discussion was the need for having systems in place, even in a small business. Michael Gerber’s book, “The E-Myth Revisited” was mentioned several times and its advice was highly regarded. There is much more to running a successful business than just technical skills.

“The fatal assumption in starting a business is to assume that because you know how to do the technical work of a business, you understand the work of a business”

There was also time for gratitude and recognition among the members. Dave from Rockingham Naked IT thanked the group for a referral, many members expressed their appreciation for Sara Abbott from Signing Australia for her hard work, and Ben from ID Automotive thanked Frank from Frankli Better Service for his prompt and efficient service in replacing a pool pump.

The closed Facebook Group for RBS Breakfast Club members was also highlighted as being a valuable resource for sharing information and offering support.

The RBS Breakfast Club is a supportive and empowering environment for local business owners. Membership is limited, ensuring a close-knit community, and there are still a few spots available for those looking to join. The meetings are a platform for networking, sharing insights, and receiving support from like-minded individuals.
